Reflection:
I enjoyed this challenge, but I read the examples in the document provided to us. I realized most of the ideas I had were on that word document. I needed to think broad and look at other’s lives as well. It became slightly difficult after number 13. I would have ideas during the day, but sometimes I had no access to write the ideas down. While I was meditating, ideas would pop up in my head; but I didn’t want to interrupt my practice to write ideas down. Luckily, my roommate and I have different personalities, so I asked about her daily routine and thought of possible daily bugs. Practicing that led me to new and more ideas.
Hi again Shelby,
ReplyDeleteYour “bugs” list are daily situations that probably bug many other people too. I appreciate that you set them on paper (well on your blog). Your eighth bug about eating after brushing your teeth is an everyday bug for me. Toothpaste and Orange juice is the WORST. An entrepreneur should create and idea that won't affect our tastebuds so we can all eat and drink what we want without the bitterness in our mouths. That last bug is one of my biggest pet peeves. Texting or talking on the phone while hanging out comes off slightly rude and quite annoying when he/she is not paying attention to their surroundings and the conversation. As to your reflection, the assignment was what bugged YOU not what bugs other people so that didn’t matter because someone out in this world will relate to you, like I did. Your bug list was great!
Hi Shelby,
ReplyDeleteWow, your Bug List is impressive. Each of your “Bugs” and “Whys” are so detailed and provide a different perspective. I really enjoyed how broad and diverse your list was and I recognized similarities between your bugs and my own. I think you consulting your roommate was a great idea in order to further identify possible bugs as each person notices or are bothered by different things.
I enjoyed reading your list of Bugs and found many were similar to the ones on my own list. It was also nice to read your reflection and realize that I wasn’t the only one in class to struggle a bit with compiling the Bug list.
Hey Shelby,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your Bug List because of how practical the bugs were. I went on a more specific tangent with products and things I didn't enjoy, while you focused well on the problems we see in our day to day lives as students. Mentions of coffee and teachers make me think of your thought process on this list, and its almost like you can see your daily routine within the lines, just with he brain of someone who has to notice all their bugs.
Hi Shelby,
ReplyDeleteYour bugs are very similar to mine in the way that they are just little things we notice when going about our day. Of course these bugs are not the end of the world, but they are easily noticeable and all things that have probably happened to you multiple times. After a few times of these bugs happening, you realize the annoyance they bring about in your day to day life. I also did the exact same thing when realizing the challenge of this exercise, which was ask my roommate what bugs her. Her answers allowed me to realize different bugs and see it from a different perspective. Your post was overall great and descriptive!
Hi Shelby,
ReplyDeleteThough I had a bit of trouble writing my own list, I read yours and realized I had a lot to empathize with. It’s definitely easier to come up with these when you collaborate with others, and I agree that thinking broad in a way that would include situations that affect a greater audience helped when compiling this list. I look forward to hearing more from you!
